Join Running Wild for a weekend of alpine running in the heart of the high country with steep ascents and quad busting descents as part of the Great Alpine Running Festival on 19 and 20 Novtember 2016.

The Dinner Plain Mile High Trail Run is a family event being held on Saturday 19 November as a precursor to Great Alpine Road Marathon and Half Marathon the following day.

The trail run offers distances of 1/5/10/21/32km and will take participants on broad winding trails amongst the snow gums and along the narrow race lines of the old gold diggings of the Cobungra Ditch.

The Great Alpine Road Marathon and Half Marathon will be held on Sunday 20 November and is the mother of all marathons in Australia.

No crowds, stunning scenery, clean fresh air and the chance to challenge yourself on a course with real hills. Live the dream of all marathon runners and run Australia's highest road, the Great Alpine Road, from Dinner Plain to Mount Hotham Village and on to Mount St Bernard before the return leg to Dinner Plain.

Up there with the likes to the top Aussie marathons; Melbourne Marathon, Gold Coast Marathon, City to Surf, Traralgon Marathon, Canberra Marathon and the Great Ocean Road Marathon, The Great Alpine Marathon is a course designed to test your limit and soak up some of the best mountain scenery Australia has to offer.
